would ya believe it

Can ya believe it, but my eyes are better...so much better that I don't have to wear glasses to drive any more... of course close vision is degrading, it got to a point where I couldn't wear my glasses to watch tv... but had to wear them to knit and spin...funny things happen with old age...I have worn glasses since i was 14.. and now at 63, i don't have to wear them...  Road was a little slippery going into Kamloops yesterday, but there were rivers of water up on the Coq when i came home, temperature was +8... and -6 when i got home... then it warmed up last night, and turned everything into ice...Levi and i had a crappy day at agility today... hard to believe he was great last week, and didn't care this week... although last week he was tied up all day as we had the gates open as Larry plowed the driveway... maybe next Friday I will tie him up again and see if that works... may be he used up too much energy playing with the pack... we are off to supper and cards tonight... i am going to be really elegant and wear my cork boots (boots with corks-(kind of like studs in tires) tonight... our drive way is like a skating rink...and i don't want to land on my butt... well i had better go get dressed.. think i will wear jeans with my cork boots...nothing too fancy... have a great night.... nite nite

Snow and more Snow

We woke up to about 4 inches of snow yesterday... looks great, and covers up all the mess... it did snow on to straight ICE... so we walk very gently.. almost landed on my butt when i went to feed the dogs..

Levi and I had a great day at Agility yesterday, it was probably the best class he had ever run... he was fast, he listened, and he worked away (I could stand in one spot and direct him to the next obstacle) he found a hidden tunnel hole.. i was really pleased with him... the picture is one taken last summer.. Even Wynn behaved herself at class, I take her and put up the Exercise pen so she is learning to stay in it, and learning that i am not too far away..

 Yankee has been talking up a storm these days, he is just too funny... he told Wynn to "smarten up" the other day, she was jumping at the cage cuz he was teasing her, he is talking more with strangers around, i

We had to put our old tom cat down before Christmas, and Yankee seems to know that he is gone, as he never calls him anymore... now that i think about it, he never call the old dogs after we had to put them down...do ya think that he knows..
I have been practicing "patience"... not sure it is doing any good yet, but i will keep practising... have a great day

Now isn't this different than what i usually do..i really do love the colours...was worried that it would be too small, but it is for my Chinese friend, who is very tiny... hope she likes it...

Daylight

I didn't get to celebrate Dec 21 like i would have like... it is my very favourite day of the year... summer is coming.. already you can see that it is much lighter at 7 am..  I am working very hard on my 'inspiration word' (thanks Louisa).. 'Patience'  I try to think of it every day...Larry says i don't have much 'patience', but he can be a challenge at times.
Went out for our first game of cards of 2011... girls won of course... hand and foot canasta... you really need patience with that game...
Finally downloaded pictures from Dec 2010... Wynn's picture on the blog... she is such a sweetie for a 'rez'dog..can hardly wait for spring and i can start training her seriously...

Finished another shawl this week... very different from the lace ones... multi colour, with a couple of rows of stocking stitch, and a couple rows of YO and knit 2 together... wild colours..have started another one, very simple, don't have to think about it... although i do forget to do the yarns over..and there are only 4 to the knit row... oh well.... patience...   Pictures are a little late... this is the finger i slammed in the shop door... the door handle broke and i wasn't fast enough when i tried to slam the door

We have a glider rocker with a foot stool, and it rocks too... she hops on it and rides it to a stand still.. she won't have a problem with the teeter in agility... little dog is Matt's 'Kayda... poor little thing just about froze when they were up for Christmas... she can't wear her coat as Wynn rips it off her..and uses it for a toy... how can ya tell i love these dogs.... will download shawl pictures later today.... hugs  and lots of patience...

Happy New Year

Happy New Year... 2011....where does the time fly..I know I have been very lazy not writing... got into Christmas shopping and that took up loads of time.. Dr appts, and then 3 weeks before Christmas I had a bad reaction to some medication and I was flat on my back for 10 days or so, and it took me another week to get enough energy to do anything... Luck for me I had most of my shopping done, but I had no energy to decorate the house, or bake.. L loves short bread, mince meat, and lemon tarts, but poor boy was out of luck this year.. Teresa and her girls decorated the tree, wasn't even, but I didn't really care... I was so sick i even missed 2 agility classes, and that never happens... We went out for Christmas dinner at friends place, very nice treat...we didn't open our gifts until late Christmas day as Joe was working until about 7 pm... Joe and Teresa gave me a beautiful set of LG front loader washer and dryer,RED.. you actually need papers to run them... very nice..Joe's Teresa loves to do laundry, so now she has a nice set... Matt gave me a gift certificate to Penningtons, I need a new bathing suit, Mom gave me some $$ so I think i will buy myself a set of wooden knitting circular needles... and Larry gave me a heated DOG bed for my old border collie who won't come in the house or the shop...just what I wanted..  Matt came up on Boxing Day, so we had our Christmas dinner on Boxing day...we had Prime Rib, mashed spuds, Yorkshire puddings, and veggies... was it ever good... I am such a good cook.. OH CRAP.... I typed like crazy for 20 minutes, and it didn't save it... so here we go again... now i need to remember what i wrote..   Dogs are doing fine, although 'Mackie' last old border collie is getting very old..we had to put down the old cat just before Christmas, that was tough... he had a very loud annoying meow..and Yankee would holler at him just like we did..."Willy, shut up".. funny Yankee hasn't even mentioned him since willy died...wonder if he knows that Willy is gone...  Matt had his little Min Pin here for a few days, poor little girl has NO coat... she decided she was going to sleep with us last night and crawled right down to the bottom of the bed under the feather duvet and stayed there... Matt went home today, got a New Year's party to night, and promised me that he won't drink and drive, he has been very good about that... he would even sleep in his car if he didn't have $$ for a motel or taxi..
L and I are off to Denise and Jack's in the morning for a Surfer breakfast... rice, sausage, fried egg and gravy... actually it is very good...  got to go find my camera I have some good pics of the dogs on it..  one of the bloggers i read, 'Damesfly' chooses a word for 2011, and tries to stick to it and make it work for her..I have decided that i will try it... now i just have to find the right word..  got Denise's birthday shawl done, just have to block it, it is her birthday next Saturday...will take some pictures of it, it is so different than anything else i have done in years....  Have a great New Year's     S

21 days to the DAY

What a good day at Agility... Levi did really well today... listened to me, ran fast, and didn't make any mistakes... I was very pleased with him to day... I did take Wynn..I want her to get used to staying in the Exercise pen.. I have to tie her in, as she can climb out... she is getting better at staying quiet..she gets excited when the dogs run, she wants to go too...for some reason she likes orange or beige coloured dogs... she gets really excited when Arnie runs, he is a Shibu Inu.. looks like a husky, but is small and very orange..  everyone did really well today... and it was a good course, lots of front crosses..  Levi's last two runs were clean runs... absolutely no mistakes.. and fast...his weaves were amazing... last class(two weeks ago).. I was ready to quit, he just wasn't with the program... I can hardly wait to run Wynn... I have her signed up for the starter classes starting in May..hopefully we will have started practicing at home.  Got some more gifts organized this week, I am trying really hard to stick to my budget... it is tough living on a seniors pension...    I have started going back to the pool, boy i am really ready to nap when i get home.. feels good though...  
I slammed my hand in the door of the shop...smashed my middle finger.. it turned a beautiful shade of purple...doesn't hurt except when  i whack it... I took a couple of pictures of it... better get my pictures down loaded.... take care
