Morning... slowly but surely spring is trying to push it's way thru... popular trees have tiny leaves, the saskatoons are showing blossoms.. they are always the first to bloom in this neck of the woods... my cherry tree is hanging on to it's blossoms for dear life, afraid if they show, we will have a frost... it is only a baby tree.. When i was out weeding the raspberries,(which are doing well, it is only their 2nd year), I had a old T shirt on that had red flowers on... a little Rufus hummingbird flew right up to me, and started poking me with his beak..at the red flowers, on my back, and then poked me in the BOOBS... i was trying so hard not to laugh as i was afraid to scare him away... I could see every feather he was so close, and the colour was unbelievable..I do have my feeders out, but i guess they weren't bright enough for him..what a truly marvelous experience... makes me glad i live in the country..
Went to Kamloops yesterday for a bone scan, have it every two years, must be the quickest test i have ever had... appt was at 10 am and i was out of there by 10:05... then went over to Penningtons, and spent the last of my Christmas present, so got two shirts and a pair of peddlar pushers, clam diggers or capris pants, or what ever they call them now... and it only cost me 20 bucks..then went to White Spot for lunch, did a few more things, stopped at Costco for some dog food, their Kirkland dog food is really good... the main ingredient is Chicken..and it has no grain in it.. and it only 24 bucks or so a 40 pound bag... and you don't have to feed as much with it... according to the bag, my 80 lb Bouvier should only have 3 cups..and my Border collies should only have 1.5 cups... and they really like it...took my girlfriend's little station wagon so i couldn't stock up, next trip i will buy 5 or 6 bags, so i don't have to run into Klps every two weeks.. Larry is in Klps again this week, poor guy is so bored, but if he doesn't finish WCB will cut him off...
We played cards with friends this past weekend... what a riot... the guys are like little kids, they win and they get so excited, laughing and hassling us... but when they lose, they claim we were cheating...what babies they are...
Yankee bird is telling me to "smarten up", when i walked into the house yesterday, he hollers Hello, and then says, "can ya believe it"..that is what L and I say to each other when he says something outrageous... he just said "don't chew it"..he is picking up more and more every day... when i put him to bed last nite, i said "night, night" and he said " kisses"... he looks down at the floor and says " what a mess"... just said "let me out", when i ignored him, he said "let me out, Please"...i don't think a day goes by when i don't marvel at his vocabulary, our life would be so boring if we hadn't bought him... hard to believe he is 4 years old... they usually don't start to interact with people until they are about 10... by then he will be carrying on full conversations with us...well i had better go strip the bed and get the laundry started... sure is quiet around here with L gone... i do enjoy the quiet time... but make sure the doors are locked when i go to bed...
didn't do any spinning this weekend, i am working on the Cria from Marie, i love to sit and spin and watch the TV, with L gone i get to watch what i want, and eat what i want... and when i want... I really love the woolee winder, i can get so much on the bobbin, and it is so neat, i know it is expensive for neat, and i am not normally a neat freak, but i never buy myself anything... but i do love it... was thinking of buying another wheel, a Joy or majacraft, so will have to get another for that... still thinking... maybe when i go to Olds, which i can hardly wait for...June and July will be busy months for me... Wee spin in with the girls from the island at Diane Brady's on June 1st, the dog trial the next weekend, and then 5 or 6 days in Olds the end of June, beginning of July... I need some me time, after all this hassel with L for the last year and a bit... me time, yup me time..... see ya

I agree you really do need some time for yourself. Looking after ill husbands is a full time, very demanding job. After everything you have been through I hope you have a great summer
Hugs Karen
